Camille spent eleven years in a Lyon clinic mostly undoing damage that expensive routines had done. Ingrid spent nine measuring how quickly a compromised barrier loses water. They started Nuvéa because the honest prescription was almost always to use less, and nothing on the market was built for that.

How we decide
Three rules
Skin is already good at repairing itself. Most products interrupt that work rather than support it, and then sell you the next product to fix the interruption.
So we hold ourselves to three rules, and every formulation decision has to survive all three:
Subtraction first
01Every formulation meeting starts with what we can remove. An ingredient stays only if taking it out makes the result measurably worse. Most do not survive that question.
Evidence, then opinion
02We use actives with decades of published data behind them, at doses those studies actually used. If the only evidence is a supplier’s brochure, it does not go in the jar.
Built to be finished
03A product you abandon half-used has failed, however good the formula was. One step, one texture, refillable, and priced so reordering is not a decision.

Twenty years of clinical dermatology and nine years of barrier research, which is mostly twenty years of watching good skin get worse.
Camille spent eleven years in clinical dermatology in Lyon, where most of her week was spent unpicking damage done by well-intentioned routines. She leads formulation and decides what does not go in.
Ingrid researched barrier lipids and transepidermal water loss for nine years before moving into industry. She runs our trials and holds the line on what we are allowed to claim.
They wanted one product they could hand a patient without a set of instructions attached. Three years and forty-one reformulations later, the list was down to five and the trial results held.
Neither of them will sign off a claim we have not measured, which is why this site has fewer numbers on it than most, and why the ones here have a sample size attached.
How it is made
Raw actives come from four suppliers in Switzerland, Japan and France, each one audited in person. They are blended cold at our facility outside Basel, because heat is what quietly degrades ceramides and peptides long before a jar ever reaches you.
Every batch is held for three separate checks: actives assay, stability, and a skin-contact panel. That takes seventeen days rather than the usual four. It is the least interesting part of the company and the part we are least willing to shorten.

02The glass vessel is permanent and the inner pod is the only thing you reorder, which removes 94% of packaging weight per refill. No outer carton, no leaflet, no tissue paper.

03Full formula and percentages are printed on the jar and on this site. Every figure we publish comes from a trial we ran, and we say how many people were in it.
